What is Xaman wallet?
Xaman wallet is a self-custody app for the XRP Ledger, built by XRPL Labs. You hold the keys. It sends XRP and issued tokens, signs trustlines, and signs NFT offers. The same product used to be called Xumm wallet — if a tutorial still says Xumm, it means Xaman.
Pixelverse uses Xaman for Xaman wallet login: you approve a SignIn payload. We never see your seed. The ledger itself is covered in what XRPL is.
Xaman vs Xumm: the old name
There is no separate “Xumm vs Xaman” product for new users. Xumm was renamed to Xaman. Your r-address, secret numbers, and on-ledger objects stay the same. You do not migrate to a second wallet.
- Store listings, old screenshots, and forum posts still say Xumm. Same app.
- Search “xumm wallet,” “xumm xaman,” or “xaman formerly xumm” — they all point here.
- Official site is xaman.app. Install from the App Store or Google Play linked there, not from a random APK.
- If someone asks you to “upgrade Xumm” by typing the seed into a website, that is a scam.
How to set up Xaman wallet (step by step)
This is Xaman on iPhone or Android. Mainnet — not the XRPL Testnet. Pixelverse mints on Mainnet.
1. Install from the official store
Open xaman.app and use the App Store or Google Play button. Check the publisher (XRPL Labs). Skip Telegram “official APK” links.
2. Create or import an account
New to XRPL: create an account in the app. Already have an r-address: import with the secret numbers or family seed. Do that only inside Xaman, never in a browser form on this site or anywhere else.
3. Write the backup on paper
Xaman shows secret numbers (and a family seed on some flows). Write them down. Do not screenshot. Do not drop them in iCloud Photos or a chat. Lose the paper and you lose the account. Anyone with the paper can empty it.
4. Lock the app
Turn on a passcode or biometrics. That stops a stolen unlocked phone from signing payloads. It is not a substitute for the paper backup.
5. Fund the XRP reserve
An XRPL account does not exist on-ledger until it holds the base reserve. Xaman shows the amount. Send XRP from an exchange or another wallet to your r-address. Until that lands, you cannot sign trustlines or claim an NFT. Typical network fees after that are a fraction of a drop — we publish the live typical fee on XRPL Pulse.
6. Sign in to Pixelverse (or any XRPL app)
- On a phone or PC, open pixelversexrpl.com and tap Sign in with Xaman.
- Xaman opens a SignIn payload (or you paste the payload link into the app).
- Read it. Approve only if you started it. The site then has your r-address — not your seed.
- That is Xaman wallet login. No username, no password.

Is Xaman wallet safe?
Xaman is built as self-custody. That is safer than leaving XRP on an exchange, and riskier than doing nothing with a leaked screenshot of your backup.
- Write the secret numbers / seed on paper. Do not screenshot them.
- Only approve payloads you opened from a site you trust (this one is pixelversexrpl.com).
- Enable a passcode / biometrics on the phone.
- Treat anyone asking you to “verify” by typing the seed as a scam.
Is Xaman wallet decentralized? The ledger is. The app is software from XRPL Labs. Your funds are not custodied by Pixelverse.
Is Xaman a cold wallet?
Usually no. A hardware wallet (Ledger and similar) keeps keys offline. Xaman cold wallet searches usually mean “is Xaman cold storage?” — the phone app is online self-custody: convenient for daily XRPL use, NFT claims, and dApp sign-in. Xaman wallet extension, Chrome, and PC
There is no official Xaman wallet extension or Xaman Chrome extension that replaces the phone app. Xaman is mobile-first. On a PC, Pixelverse opens a Xaman sign payload in the browser; you approve it in the phone app (or paste the link into Xaman). That is Xaman wallet for PC: the desktop site plus the mobile signer.

Fees
XRPL network fees are typically a fraction of a drop of XRP. We publish the live typical fee and ledger age from our own node on XRPL Pulse. Xaman may show a service fee on some payload types. Minting a Pixelverse NFT is designed as a free mint for eligible wallets; you still need XRP for reserves and any trustline / claim offer you sign.

Does Xaman have a Chrome extension?
No official Xaman Chrome extension replaces the phone app. On a PC, Pixelverse opens a sign payload in the browser; you approve it in Xaman on the phone. For a browser extension, use Crossmark.
How much XRP do I need for Xaman?
